ZONING: Legal restrictions on where different activities can locate within a city. Most cities regulate the location of industrial, commercial, and residential activities. The underlying motivation behind zoning is to keep less desirable, but perhaps more profitable, activities from encroaching upon residential areas.

CAPITAL CONSUMPTION ALLOWANCE: A common term for then item in the National Income and Product Accounts maintained by the Bureau of Economic Analysis that measures the macroeconomy's capital depreciation during a given time period, usually one year. The capital consumption allowance, which is officially termed the capital consumption adjustment, both of which conveniently go by the abbreviation of CCA, is subtracted from gross domestic product (GDP) to calculate net domestic product (NDP). The CCA is also subtracted from gross private domestic investment to calculate net private domestic investment. FACTOR SUPPLY DETERMINANTS Ceteris paribus influences, other than factor price, that shift the factor supply fall into three general categories: (1) market supply determinants, (2) market demand determinants, and (3) mobility. Comparable to any determinant, those falling into these three categories cause the factor supply curve to shift to a new location. An increase in factor supply is a rightward shift of the factor supply curve and a decrease in factor supply is a leftward shift.
