INJUNCTION: A court order requiring a person, union, or firm to refrain from a particular activity. The general intent of an injunction is to prevent the action of one person that is very likely to harm another. Injunctions were commonly used during the more turbulent periods of the labor union movement, primarily by firms to prevent unions from striking. The Clayton made it more difficult for firms to use injunctions against unions.

AGGREGATE DEMAND AND MARKET DEMAND The aggregate demand curve, or AD curve, has similarities to, but differences from, the standard market demand curve. Both are negatively sloped. Both relate price and quantity. However, the market demand curve is negatively sloped because of the income and substitution effects and the aggregate demand curve is negatively sloped because of the real-balance, interest-rate, and net-export effects.
