OWNER OCCUPIED: A building or residence (especially a house) that is occupied or lived in by those who have legal ownership. The direct contrast to owner occupied is a rental unit. This term tends to surface most often in the study of economics when calculating Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In particular, the estimated rent on owner-occupied housing is calculated by the folks at the Bureau of Economic Analysis and included in value of GDP.

AGGREGATE MARKET SHOCKS

Disruptions of the equilibrium in the aggregate market (or AS-AD model) caused by shifts of the aggregate demand, short-run aggregate supply, or long-run aggregate supply curves. Shocks of the aggregate market are associated with, and thus used to analyze, assorted macroeconomic phenomena such as business cycles, unemployment, inflation, stabilization policies, and economic growth. The specific analysis of aggregate market shocks identifies changes in the price level (GDP price deflator) and real production (real GDP). Changes in the price level and real production have direct implications for the unemployment rate, the inflation rate, national income, and a host of other macroeconomic measures.

[What's This?]

This isn't me! What am I?

In 1914, Ford paid workers who were age 22 or older $5 per day -- double the average wage offered by other car factories.
"I learned about the strength you can get from a close family life. I learned to keep going, even in bad times. I learned not to despair, even when my world was falling apart. I learned that there are no free lunches. And I learned the value of hard work. "
