S CORPORATION: A legal firm type that is officially structure as a corporation, especially with limited liability of the owners, but is able to avoid the double taxation of profits through the use of a special section of the Internal Revenue Service tax code (Chapter S). The profit of an S corporation is considered the income of its owners and is thus taxable only as individual income. There are, however, limits on who can be an owner of an S corporation.

Most exchanges in a modern, complex market-oriented economy involve a commodity on one side and a monetary payment (that is, price) on the other. SUPPLY INCREASE An increase in the willingness and ability of sellers to sell a good at the existing price, illustrated by a rightward shift of the supply curve. An increase in supply is caused by a change in a supply determinant and results in an increase in equilibrium quantity and a decrease in equilibrium price. A supply increase is one of two supply shocks to the market. The other is a supply decrease.
