OSHA: The abbreviation for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which is an agency of the U. S. Department of Labor, established in 1970, that's charged with regulating workplace safety and job-related worker health. It has the authority to imposed health and safety rules and, much to the displeasure of businesses, inspect workplaces to ensure that the rules are followed. Some (second estate) critics argue of their rules are unneeded, overzealous, and counter-productive. Other (third estate) critics say that their rules are neither stringent enough nor adequately enforced.

UNFAIR COMPETITION: A wide assortment of business practices that are deceptive and dishonest, and usually hamper competition. Examples of unfair competition include false or misleading advertising, price discrimination, bribery, and even industrial espionage. These practices and many, many more are illegal according to antitrust law, specifically the Federal Trade Commission Act (1914). NATIONAL INCOME AND PRODUCT ACCOUNTS The official government system of collecting, processing, and reporting assorted production and income measures used to track aggregate activity in the macroeconomy. This system of accounts, maintained by the Bureau of Economic Analysis in the Department of Commerce, is the source of official estimates of gross domestic product, net domestic product, national income, personal income, disposable income, gross national product, and related measures.
